My Five Favorite Things - 2016

You know how this works.  The biggest difference is that you're not in a studio audience, and you all don't get one of everything hidden under your chair.  Here's my 2016 list of favorite things, and why they're my favorite.

In no particular order:

1.  Trader Joe's enrich - moisturizing face lotion

I'm bald and usually don't have more than a 5 o'clock shadow worth of facial hair, so I'm always in need of some broad spectrum protection from the sun.  This one is light, not greasy, and only costs about $4.

2.  Google Chromecast

For just $20 I can view anything on my phone or PC on my living room TV.  I can have music from my phone playing on my large living room speakers and control the volume and song selection form my phone anywhere in my house.  It's hard to beat the price for the amount of convenience it provides.  I'm sure the new model is just as good, but I don't have that one.

3.  Little Caesars Bacon Wrapped Pizza

I'm a bit of a health nut and a gym rat, but when I see the commercial for this pizza I just have to get at least one while it's available for a limited time.  So much bacon.  I don't think I need to explain much else.  You McRib watchers can keep your meat patty, I'm looking out for this.

4.  Geparlys Black Invincible Cologne

I'm always on the lookout for a new scent.  I have to keep my wife guessing.  I found this in one of the mall perfume outlets and really liked it.  It has a heavy almost sweet musk smell.  It reminds me a little of Joop, if you're familiar with that cologne.  I also seems to have a higher oil content since it seems to last for a pretty long time.

5.  Earthshine Discovery Center

I actually didn't visit this family lodge in 2016; I was last there in 2010.  So for the past 6 years, this place has set the standard for what I expected from a place for a fun family vacation.  Nothing has even come close, and I've come to the conclusion that I need to just go back to Earthshine.  For one price my family was able to get an awesome rustic room with a loft area for our son, 3 delicious meals per day with snacks, and fun family activities like a ropes course and zip lining.  I highly recommend this place if you are considering an all inclusive vacation like a cruise or Sandals/Beaches getaway.
