My grandmother is probably laughing really hard up in heaven. For years, as a kid, I begged her not to pull my watermelon plants while she was weeding her flower bed. She'd always pull them, because there were no watermelons, just weeds. I decided to try again as an adult, so I bought a cheap pack of seeds. I started the seeds indoors so that if anything grew in the pots, it would have to be a watermelon plant. A few plants grew, and my son and I planted them outdoors. I was so excited when I noticed a small actual watermelon, about the size of a gum ball, growing on the vine. I had to take a picture, because I'm sure my grandmother will be laughing again when the deer eat my little melon.
